Cerritos, Los Angeles County
Cerritos incorporated in 1956 as Dairy Valley, home to far more cows than people, and took its present name in 1967 as the dairies gave way to houses. The city is known for its public buildings. The Cerritos Library, rebuilt in 2002, is wrapped in titanium panels, and a performing arts center with a movable seating system opened nearby in 1993.
